A
company is only as good as its employees. That's why Brasfield Construction
works hard at keeping its work force of caring, concerned, understanding and
skilled craftsmen. Brasfield Construction employees share with management the
feeling that each customer should receive maximum value for each dollar spent.
"'I
would like to see all of my employees be treated with respect and that they be
offered challenges and opportunities to grow,” says Ken Brasfield, company
president. "I want to offer a good work environment, a place where there
is pressure to perform, but not so much that it inhibits performance."
Brasfield
Construction rewards its employees with a lot of benefits, a number of which
are unique in the construction industry...
•
Each employee receives group health insurance. A Section 125 Plan also is in
place to reduce the cost through tax savings. The company also pays for life
insurance for each employee.
•
Six holidays are observed annually.
•
Bonus Days are given whenever possible so employees can have three and
four-day weekends.
•
The company pays 100 percent of the cost for continuing education and
training.
•
The company's profit-sharing program returns 40 percent of the profit to the
employees. One management consultant said that Brasfield Construction's
program was the most liberal he had seen in his 25 years as a consultant.
•
Employees are treated to an annual Christmas lunch and receive a ham for their
family holiday celebration.
•
All employees who work throughout the year without a lost-time accident are
rewarded with a day off with pay. Employees have received an Accident Free
Safety Award since 1995.
•
Work shirts and hats are given to all employees to not only provide a good
company image, but as a clothing allowance.
• Vacation days are provided based on length of time with the company.
Management works hard to encourage its employees to do quality work not only for the benefit of the company, but, more importantly, for the personal satisfaction of the employee. Brasfield Construction promotes from within before looking outside to fill employee vacancies.
