Awards
Brasfield Construction won the coveted 2000 Cornerstone award. This award is given to a business that has been operating in Madison County more than 20 years with local ownership. The company was also recognized in 1989 by winning the Chamber's Small business of the Year.
Pinnacle Award
Brasfield Construction is unique in many ways,
in the ways it looks out for its own employees, and in the way it works
closely with each customer to insure a quality job and a good investment for
the customer. For example, the company's profit sharing plan includes sharing
40 percent of its profit each year among employees
and another 20 percent in donations back to the community organizations. This
amount does not include thousands of dollars more each year in pro bono
construction work. Brasfield Construction provided the labor and materials for
the chapel at Youth Town, and labor for the soccer field, Pavilion and dirt
work at the Boys and Girls Club. On many building projects for non-profit
groups, Brasfield Construction oversees the project at no profit or overhead
charge. This includes the intake facility for JACOA's Montgomery Hall, the
admissions office at Lambuth College, and the Union University baseball field
dugout, concessions stands and drainage work. Currently Brasfield Construction
is not charging for the new Unity Park- the City's memorial to the 1999
tornado victims - in downtown Jackson.
When Ken Brasfield won the 1995 "Man of the Year" award, his citation included statements from others that said when they needed something done, they knew they could turn to Brasfield to get it done. That is a commitment Brasfield and his company has cherished for 30 years; that is a commitment we continue to meet today.
